At Holy Trinity we aim to strike a musical balance between the traditional songs and hymns that people know and love, as well as drawing on a wide range of contemporary worship music that can really lift the congregation.
At Holy Trinity, like many other churches world-wide, we use the hugely popular Songs of Fellowship song books, and source a large amount of our music selection from there. Specifically, we use volumes 1 to 3 of SOF (the congregation song books are the combined words covering all three volumes) which gives us a pool of over 1,100 songs and hymns to draw upon.
What's great about SOF is that it contains a huge selection of the traditional songs that people know and enjoy, but also has quite a wide selection of more up-to-date songs to choose from.
Although many of the songs we play are taken from the Songs of Fellowship catalogue, we also strive to include a selection of more contemporary worship songs to give each service a mix of traditional and new.
It's obviously preferable not to base a service around four new songs that people have never sung, but gradually adding more modern songs to our repertoire — from the likes of Keith & Kristyn Getty, Stuart Townend, Hillsong UNITED, and more — is a great way to lift the congregation. We therefore have a growing selection of contemporary music available to download.
Aside from the music at our regular weekly services, we also have a thriving church choir — the "Trinity Singers" — that perform at key points throughout the church calendar.
A selection of the choral works that we sing are also available for download.
